All-Hazards Readiness Validation

DQE's Hospital All-Hazards Validation is a comprehensive onsite evaluation of a hospital's emergency preparedness activities with primary focus on planning, training and sustainment efforts. The goal of this Validation is to identify the necessary readiness actions needed to augment preparedness and provide guidance on those areas that require enhancement. This assessment provides a hospital with a realistic path to become more organized and prepared for day-to-day emergencies and disaster-prone events.

All-Hazards Validation Focus:

  • Validate the hospital's emergency management program against national standards and guidelines and provide direction in areas that require enhancement
  • Ensure planning efforts are consistent with hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA) and community expectations and activities
  • Facilitate a forum with hospital leaders to establish readiness objectives, discuss perceived strengths and weaknesses, and to obtain buy-in from stakeholders
  • Update administration and management personnel on new standards and related survey expectations
  • Provide examples of best practices to enhance the hospital's emergency preparedness efforts
  • Assist the hospital in understanding how to become more integrated into the community emergency planning effort
  • Outline a path for building a sustainable, resilient emergency management program
